In parallel with that I can report that the old Met Office College at
Shinfield has recently been flattened by the bulldozers to make way for
housing. In addition the road on the southern side of the College site has
now been bypassed by a new roundabout complex. Anyone who buys those houses
is going to need ear defenders, even with the change of nearby roads it is
still a very noisy site as I remember from my five years there as an
Instructor.

I can remember when this area (i.e. along London Road) was primarily
housing - ribbon development that was demolished to make way for the
various office complexes in the area - coming full circle now.
