local untreated road is perfectly fine if care is taken, and certainly
the treated roads look OK; I think the 'chaos' is due to people not
being used to the conditions rather than the weight of snow, but as
mentioned in an earlier [WR] thread, I suspect that snow has fallen over
earlier ice/melted-refrozen snow and it is *this* that has caused what
are obviously major problems locally.

I heard that only 4 teachers could manage to get to the school so
decision as to whether children should go to the school was left to
parents. Also heard that Bracknell Council hadn't bothered to salt the
roads - but what's new about that?
