Depends which average you want to use :-)

The CET is running at 5.9ºC (as of this afternoon - the 16th). That is:
2.7 degC above the 1659-2000 mean
2.6 degC above the 1941-70 mean
2.3 degC above the 1951-80 mean
2.1 degC above the 1961-90 mean
1.7 degC above the 1971-2000 mean, and
1.0 degC above the 1988-2000 mean

It might even be
0.2 degC below the 1991-2020 mean, but
on the other hand it might not.
