Sorting out the Epping stats for February I was surprised to find that the
13 days with snow falling is the highest for that month since records began
in 1979. Particularly when considering that both the depth and persistence
of the snow cover were quite unremarkable. Feb 1986 had 12 days with snow
falling, Feb 1991 11 but much greater depths and persistence of cover.
