I recorded 32 hours of
frost: annoyingly the temperature climbs just above freezing in the
quarter of an hour just before 9 am. Am I the only person to get annoyed
by such things?

No - that annoys me, as does days when it is around 3 C all day with a 30
minute sunny spell where the temp peaks during the spell at say 7.6 C and
then falls back to 3 C and I have to record a max of 7.6 C and there is
nothing on record to say that really the day temp was 3 C.

temperature falls steadily from sunset and then stops, and stays, just above
freezing overnight
a covering of snow at first light which clears by 0900 observation time
'wintry' setups in Spring when all you can say 'if this had been
January'..although I am less convinced by this one
Summer days which just fail to reach 21° - my criterion for a warm day
Looking at photographs of deep snow when all I can see here is steady rain

All the best
