They are stored in an html file in your profile folder. Look for
Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxxxx.default and your bookmarks.html file
should be in there. The location of the profiles folder differs from OS to
OS but, in XP it is in [disk]:\Documents and Settings\[user
name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default

It is easier than this.

Open Firefox, click on bookmarks then click on manage bookmarks which will
open a new window.

Click on file, click on export and save your bookmarks to a place of your
choice.


If you have to re-install Firefox, just import your saved bookmarks via the
same route.
