Yes, but there is no point in the licence payers complaining to the
weather presenters. The content of the programs is dictated by the
producers, so complain to the BBC.

If the producers want bimbos, they get bimbos. They may not admit it,
but it is all about viewing figures. And the producers consider
themselves to be in a position to know what a large majority of viewers
want. And what the majority dont seem to want is a 'man from the
ministry' lecturing breakfast time viewers on the finer points of
positive vorticity advection.

But the BBC isn't supposed to be just about viewing figures.
Just like you mentioned in another post, it's about inform, educate &
entertain. And if that results in lower viewing figures than what might
be achieved with bimbos, then so be it.

I absolutely agree as will most on the group. The government has told the
BBC to concentrate less on viewing figures. It really doesn't seem to be
taking any notice at all. They could start by banning all the loud mouthed
tabloid-style trailers and bringing back the clock and a moment of silence
before the news. Let's have some respect and discipline. Make it different
from commercial offerings. It's just like one big party at the moment. Just
too cool.
