Default [WR] Bovey Tracey: Hail

My VantagePro is measuring 0.8 mm since midnight.

Trouble is that with the wind up here the precipitation is swirling around.
My wife said she saw snow falling upwards on her walk and the whole of the front
of her body was completely white walking into the wind.
Funny day, in the sun it is actually quite warm but then comes one of those
showers .....

Temp now risen to 1.9 deg C at 1835 local - visibility 40Km or more and the sun
is coming out !
A beautiful April evening. Wind now NW 20 knots.

Will.

Had another shower of snow/rain/hail. Again, not heavy enough to register.
Not had a measurable amount of precipitation since 7:30.

By the way.
Thanks to those of you who post weather reports on here. They're useful for
verifying our forecasts at the Met Office.
Before anybody asks, yes, I work in the same group as Will Hand

2 minute hail shower with 5mm hailstones.
Temperature dropped from 8.0C to 4.7C at same time.
Now that the hail has melted, there wasn't enough of it to register one
bucket tip in the rain gauge (min. reading 0.3mm)

Argh! It took me 40 minutes to get my news reading program to work! Maybe

I
should post here more often so that Outlook Express and I can get used to
each other!
