Personally, I feel that Manchester will lose out yet again. Today we
had cirrus clouds and sunshine, and it wasn't that cold. Tonight,
the skies are clear and the temperature has more or less remained
static at 3C.
Every time one of these northerly blasts has hit us, it has been
little more than cold air and clear skies. No snow.
Unfortunately, I have little reason to believe that this 'Big
Freeze' will be any different.
Paul.
Hi Paul,
Tomorrow night and into Wednesday will be our best bet, however
altitude will help. I'm at about 60m, but above 150m is a better bet.
I am taking a trip home on Friday to Nottingham, no doubt the trip
through Edale and S of Kinder Scout will be white. The railway line
reaches a peak height of around 450m.
Joe
Sadly Joe, I suspect the 'white' stuff will be frost, not snow. There's supposed
to be a lot of snow for Wednesday according to the BBC today, but then there was
supposed to be a lot of snow for yesterday and today as well...
Looks like I'll be watching our lamp-post tonight with a faint hope(!)
Paul.
