Surprisingly high maxima at Solent (especially) and Thorney Island.

My own maximum (to nearest whole degree F) was 59 (15.0C) and
Southampton A/P had no half-hourly METAR higher than 14 deg C. These
match my own readings quite well. My screen is currently shaded from
direct sunshine so I expect to be a degree or two lower than Solent
*and* the A/P in light winds on sunny days - I did not think yesterday
was such a day and surprisingly, Solent (not I) was the odd one out.

Possible explanation? (apart from instrument error or screen
problems): shelter from the wind by the closely adjacent coastguard
building at Solent, coupled with brighter/greater amounts of "coastal"
sunshine than further inland. Any other thoughts, anyone?

In yesterday's NW winds, I am 5 miles upwind/inland of Solent MRSC and
Southampton A/P is 7 miles beyond that.
