Did anybody else in the NW England and Wales experience this?

I was in Connah's Quay around 1330 when there was heavy rain & hail.

I traveled
to Mold at around 1400 and there was a lightening & thunder directly

overhead as
I passed through Northop. On arriving home near Mold it was dry but

rain & hail
started about 1430. I spoke to a friend in Northop later who said

his power was
off as a result of the storm.

Just spotted this on the BBC site

Football at Wrexham postponed due to waterlogged pitch. Yet 30 miles
away in Shrewsbury there's been virtually no rain, just a few spots
here and there, and no thunder. Currently clear.
