Default UK Met Station IDs - going back a few years

Dear All

I've been looking at some weather data going back to the Burns Day storm of
1990 and found some station IDs that I'm unfamiliar with, here's an example
list:

StationID StnLong StnLat
10 -1.63 59.53
12 -1.3 59.88
43 -1.18 60.13
48 -1.27 60.45
154 -2.9 58.95
293 -3.08 58.45
425 -4.42 57.95

Does anybody have any idea how these relate to a standard WMO 5-digit ID?
Is there an internal numbering system for the UK stations?

Richard,

Looks like the first 3 are Fair Isle, Sumburgh and Lerwick. I haven't
checked the others.

Norman.
