"Dave. C" Nice to here from you Tom! (Bennett). Just been into town and
the plastic
sledges are stacked high and selling like hotcakes. Hope they're not

going
to be disappointed!

Hi Dave,

Just back from a fortnight in Leicestershire running a training course.

Working from home still which is great - unless it's like tomorrow, when I
have an all-day meeting in Central London!!!

Lots of hype around, especially in the media, which has gone completely
bonkers. It all makes me nostalgic for the Co. Durham snowfalls I used to
experience. Now that WAS snow (eh, Ken?).

Similarly the big freeze of the 81/82 winter (I recorded minus 19C one
night - boy, was that cold, with ice floes on the River Wear at
Chester-le-Street in the days that followed). So far here, the "severe
frosts" have been very slight, with a balmy -2C at best and I doubt we'll
see much below -3C this week, unless we get a really deep snow cover by
tomorrow night

Ah well, maybe nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Keep well.
