I liked the site as a clear indication of what was happening, rather than
yet another forecast.

Don't forget who the information is aimed at - hang gliders and paragliders.
They are very flexible where the take off from so knowing the forecast wind
speed and direction helps make a decision to be made well in advance which
particular hill to go to.

I suspect Dave Billington the webmaster was to an extent driven by his
sponsors as to the layout.
