Default [WR] Brampton, Cumbria - Powdery snowstorm !!

In message , Paul Crabtree
writes
Started around 1115/1125 - very heavy snow, powdery in nature, ground and
roads all covered within 5 mins, have a good couple of cm or so, drifting in
the winds, gusting to 35mph. Wind chill -7c, temps fallen from +1 to
MS -1.5c

The artic weather has arrived !

Woke up to no snow this morning, then flurries of powdery stuff. I
thought that was it, but then towards noon I noticed the sky had gone
very dark and soon after it was a near whiteout with quite a strong
wind. The wind calmed a little, and it continued snowing for about an
hour I suppose. Haven't measured the snow - nothing to get excited about
- you can still see tussocks of grass in the fields. After the snow,
the day developed into a gloriously sunny one with an incredibly blue
sky, and its going to be a chilly night if it stays as clear as it is
now.
