I'm not accusing anybody of spam attacks! Other batches come from
giganews and individual.net, so in fact, it looks as if there's a
problem in Germany somewhere. Turnpike bounces everything
automatically, so I haven't actually looked at any of them - some of
last week's carried viruses, but today's batch are just URL carriers.
Has anyone else had anything like this?

I collect mail via POP3 now (using Turnpike), so I never get to see
these spam floods, thank goodness.

I have started to get a small amount of spam that appear to be in German,
and what spurs me to write this message is that I have just received a copy
of one (timed at 22.13) from addressed to
. Perhaps other readers have
received the same message.

What is a mystery to me is that messages addressed to the email address I
use for mewsgroups are supposed to be deleted from the ntlworld server.
Could this be that messages sent to me where my address does not appear in
the address line are not so deleted?
