When snow and ice is forecast, many here welcome such forecasts with
glee, despite the disruption, accidents and severe discomfort and danger
for the elderly that will happen because of it! Why not do the same for
sun and heat?


Because it melts the climbs...

Seriously, It is easy do do something about cold weather - There are
only so many layers you can take off when it is foul like today.

Also those of us who enjoy winters are probably not in the market for
vile English summer weather.
