All afternoon, on the one day of the year they should have been

Now I know the Hutton Report is important but *not to the extent of
ignoring the onset of severe weather probably affecting more people
than any other day this Winter*.
The BBC have been hammered in the Hutton Report and should now be
hammered for this afternoons failure to report and warn about
*important* weather News. They seem totally unable to strike the right
balance. Sad, and a failure of public duty IMHO.
It's about time they toned down some of the hype anyway, which has
been ludicrous for the last week or so.
Some parts of the country have had some snow and temperatures have
dipped below freezing...for a few days before rising into the teens
again.
Wow! Isn't that a small taste of what used to be called Winter? That's
all!!
