I wouldn't use the word "miserable". It's been sunny at times here,
and
dry pretty much throughout. The only disappointing aspect has been

"Miserable" to me means days on end of low, grey overcast, steady
but
not torrential rain and temps too warm for snow but too cool for
shirtsleeves. Last October here was an excellent example of a
"miserable" month.

We have had below average sunshine round here. Seems like many of
those in
west have done better than we have.
Looks like next week will be different though:-)

In that case, if you've had the same temperatures as we have, it would
be a poor May indeed (apart from the dryness). This week hasn't been as
bright as last, but only Monday was what I'd call "dull".
I still don't hold out much hope of reaching 21C here in the next week
with all those lows nearby. Had 2 airfrosts this month, same as in
January!
