I've processed the 11.14 Terra/MODIS image and cropped it. The file size
is about 750KB so will take about 3-4 minutes on a 56k modem. The lying
snow is clear to see as are the odd gaps in the cover.

The gaps are the most interesting part of that image.

What seems very strange is the absence of snowfall from the
Leeds area down through Sheffield to Nottingham/Derby.

I though this area would have got a decent fall considering
the fact here in Bolton I got a couple of inches, not a lot
compared to some areas but at least a good covering.
