Default Heavy rain in S.E.

The combination of a post about the drought here, a forecast for a dry day
and a Bank Holiday Monday has produced the most significant rainfall here
in
weeks. I'd almost forgotten that wonderful smell of fresh rainfall,
enlivening the garden more than any hosepipe can. I just hope it clears
later so as not to spoil people's outdoor activities.

Well, the forecast for East Anglia was for showers. It was not for the
torrential downpour which has happened in Norfolk... The rain was so heavy a
cycling event was called off this morning as the A11 was turned into a river
in many places south of Norwich and visibility was *seriously* reduced due
to volume of rain combined with spray from vehicles. It was seriously nasty
out there this morning :-(
