As has already been noted, last week was a very harsh one for most Aegean
isles, with F14 winds, blizzards and two islands and eastern Crete (up to
130 cm of snow in inhabited areas of Lasithi) declaring a state of
emergency. Here are some photographs from the island of Andros (central
Aegean):
Absolute impressive pictures, Yannis! These hurricane winds must also have
caused enormous waves in the Aegean. Hardly can imagine such violence. Once
sailed the North Sea with wave-heights up till 7 metre. Was happy to reach
land again - however entering a harbour, in these circumstances, is the
most tricky part of the tour!
