Just seen your figures, Martin which were posted 1 minute before mine!
My Spring rainfall came to112.7 mm ( 79% of the 1971 - 2000 mean) and
the 12 month running total is 569mm ( 90% of the mean).

.... Indeed Peter - a dry spring just gone, and looking out at our
garden, which despite today's hit-and-miss rainfall is looking quite
parched, I can't help thinking that the English weather is conspiring to
make it difficult for the English batsmen this summer.

Checking the local cricket wicket up at Great Hollands from
time-to-time, I note that the strip is very dry and cracking nicely &
the outfield is dry with stunted grass-growth.

Presumably Lords & the Oval are tended with a little more care, but the
Aussies must be relishing our conditions at the moment - often dry with
periods of strong/drying winds and strong sunshine; the Met Office LR
forecast doesn't support a lot of rain - quite the reverse really in the
SE corner of these islands.
