Belgian RMI storms expert Karim Hamid wrote in a post on the Belgian NG at
17.09 local time that he thought there was a supercell over the Belgian
coast.

:Elsenborn in Belgium (06496) reported a gust of 78KT at 16Z as an
:intense line of storms passed through.

Two separate lines of storms apparently - one over the coast and west
Flanders, the other over the Ardennes. 17 mm rain noted by an amateur
observer in Brugge (Bruges).

Brief heavy downpour in Brussels at 19.25 (lasting about 3 minutes ... ).
Still gloomy but no thunder.

Impressive photos of shelf clouds over the Netherlands shown on the Dutch
TV
weather forecast half an hour ago. Amsterdam metro (tube) system out of
action after a lightning strike.

Yes, impressive squall-line over Flevopolder also. However compared to the
massive rainfall the lighting frequency could be better. Had 21 mm in two
hours at my site. have made some pictures, but can't beat this one on the
KNMI-site:

Picture taken in Wijk aan Zee, a coastal village just north of IJmuiden.
(about 30 km west of Amsterdam). Western sky. This roll-cloud is still above
the North Sea.

Temperature also had an interesting course today:
6.00h : 13.1 C;
11.00 h 21.6 C; 14.00 26.7 C - 15.00 h 21.2 C - 17.00 h (during TS) 11.2 C.
22.00h: 12.5c.
