I would certainly feel guilty if I thought that the childish delight
that I still take in snow could in any way influence the weather. Since
the weather isn't going to change whatever my attitude, I feel free to
enjoy it.

Why not do the same for sun and heat?


Because very hot weather, though of great meteorological interest, is
too damn uncomfortable. It's easier to keep warm in cold weather than it
is to keep cool in hot weather.

BTW, if you look at the morbidity statistics, I think you'll find that
nowadays there's a bigger rise in the death rate caused by extreme heat
than by extreme cold.
