Bizarre! I drove up from Dorset this morning to Wadhurst for a late
lunch. As I drove back I thought it seemed to be getting mighty dark
ahead of me. I was on the dreaded M25 and with warnings of queues
ahead decided to come off and head down the A3 to Guildford! It was at
about 1700 IIRC and boy,did the heavens open for about 10 minutes-
everything slowed to an absolute crawl. By the time I got to a snarl
up presumably close to Guildford (I was going across to Aldershot
Garrison) the rain stopped quite quickly. The run back from Aldershot
was good - left at 2122 and arrived west of Dorchester at 2306. I have
yet to check the AWS at work to see if Dorset had anything...
Cheers Robin

Hi Robin - a few miles can make a difference. I am located at Merrow which
is a mile or so E of Guildford. During the rain, the skies looked quite dark
to the NW, and I thought it was really going to get going! But nothing of
note.... Phil

And here in Fleet the rain was very heavy for a while (havent got
rainfall figures)
