Beware when using crimps in hostile environments, vaseline filled or not
still add a second layer of protection (self - amalgamating tape) as
they are prone to all kinds of strange faults especially when data are
involved (electrolytic action, poor connections, things like that).
Thin cable doesn't mean you can't solder it!
