Actually in Surrey the sky was not that clear with high level cirrus giving
a rather milky look at times and the light almost looked like that
experienced during partial eclipses of the sun. During the evening there
were some excellent mock suns visible and a faint circumzenithal arc.

Hi All
What an absolutely superb day here in West Wickham - somewhat chilly
this
morning - (Tuesday) but by 11am the everything warmed up nicely, and
allowed
me to get outside to do some long-overdue chores in the garden - lovely.
In contrast, it felt quite cool in this part of Kent (Canterbury). Even
though the sky was clear of clouds and the sun was beating down, it only
just got to around 16C and the brisk easterly breeze actually made it
feel cooler. I guess if you are further west you might have been more
sheltered from the wind coming off the North Sea.
