I was reading Robin McIlveen's "Fundamentals of Weather and Climate" in bed
this morning, as you do if you are a sad geek like me :-(

He seemed to be saying that there was a systematic error in the current model
used to calculate the cloud base. In other words the lapse rate in the
sub-cloud layer differs from that modelled. Does anyone know if this is still
true? If so, I think that I may have the answer :-)
