Just had a call from my mum in Blyth (7 miles away) and they have not had
one drop of rain there and only a few rumbles.

IMO they were single cells, some with rotation, verging on 'severe
pulse'.
Looks like Estofex were right to upgrade to slight risk. Seems to have
settled down a bit now. Photographs to follow later.
