What is it about the Gravesend site that makes it so warm?

The London MO is at least understandable, being in the middle of a heat
island.

Not 100% sure where the Gravesend site is, but the high readings could be
due in part to it being an urban site.

Jonathan

I think that the "Gravesend" site is not in Gravesend itself but somewhere
out on the Broadness peninsula, near the River Thames north of Swanscombe.
Not exactly an urban site, but I would appreciate more details as would, I
believe, many readers of the NG.

I seem to remember that PE believes that it is suspect, but whether that is
because of the frequency with which its readings appear in the high
temperature records or not, I do not know. Over to you, please, Philip!
