BRACKNELL (TF)

Martin, I'm curious - what does the (TF) in your header stand for?

... Tawfield - there are other people occasionally reporting within
Bracknell; I started out writing the full name, but to prevent Tudor's
blood pressure from rising too high, quickly decided to abbreviate it
;-)

Regarding 1976, I was in Bracknell then, living on Hanworth. I
remember the dry
brown grass and the fires. I particularly recall some quite serious
fires in
the pine forests south of Bracknell and one very close to South Hill
Park.

.... we are (tomorrow's predicted rainfall notwithstanding) heading in
that direction again. Also, the long summer school holidays are not far
off ;-(

Somehow the drier heat of 1976 felt much more comfortable than the
stifling
humidity of last Sunday, or maybe it's just my age.

.... agreed with last weekend; since then, with the humidity down
significantly, it has been 'reasonably' pleasant, and the nights haven't
(at least for us) been too uncomfortable - but that is a variable of
course, others will regard them as too warm.

Martin.
