BRACKNELL (TF)
0900 SSW F3 30km - 1/ACCAST 5/AC T223D146
RMK: Although Ac Cast. reported, overall the sky has become less
threatening - the main Ac is very thin, with about 3 oktas Cirrus above.
Strong sunshine - the surface wind highly variable from near calm one
minute to F4 within a couple of minutes: highly variable direction too.
[ OVERNIGHT DATA (18Z - 09Z):
screen min: 16.4 grass min: 14.1 precipitation: NIL
other data: The grass smells 'dead' - i.e. the smell you get when you
enter a barn of stored hay. ]=

1100 N F4 25km -TS 3/ACCAST 7/AC T214D150
RMK: 'ugly, threatening sky' to the west, assw ACCAST; muffled
(?high-level?) thunder heard, but no PPN. Wind rose to F5, ocnl 6 for a
short time.=

1105 N F3-4 22km -TSRA 5/ACCAST 8/AC
RMK: slight rain - large droplet size.=

1200 NW F3 15km -RA RE-TS 1/CB 7/AC T182D163
RMK: I've put in 1 okta CB to take account of the dark mass retreating
eastwards, but at no time could the classic Cb 'shape' be detected - the
base must have been well above 6000ft. Main Ac base ~ 7000/8000ft, but
lifting now and breaking from west; sunshine beginning to reappear.
Rainfall from this event (so far): 0.9mm, with short period moderate
rain 1115-1140Z. TS ceased ~1130Z, never a major factor in the weather
here. Very humid now - not the classic 'clearing' thunderstorm.=

1230 NNW F3 25km RE-RA 1/ACCAST 3/AC
RMK: light rain ceased just after midday (Z); now fine/occasionally
sunny, but remaining humid.=

1400 NNE F3 40km 15kmW -TS RA 2/CB 5/SC 8/AC T227D164
RMK: light rain began suddenly 1358Z, and within short time to
moderate - once again dark/ominous sky to west - odd rumble of distant
thunder.=

1500 NNE F3 30km 8000NE -TSRA 2/CB 4/SC 7/AC T196D179
RMK: note dew point - mighty oppressive now with all the additional
moisture. A period of moderate rain past hour, now light and can see
distinct western edge to Ac, so even with slow movement, should be clear
of us within half-hour or so. =

1700 N F2 35km RE-TSRA 3/SC 5/AC 7/AC T198D180
RMK: thunder slowly passed away to the east by about 1610Z, with the
light rain finally giving up by 1620Z. Bright sunshine for some time
before all that, but within past 15 mins, clouded over again - we're not
out of the woods yet; very oppressive with dew point continuing to edge
up and a failing wind. Rainfall total since 09Z this morning now 6.5mm,
all but about a mm of that falling from the second event above.=

RMK: light rain began circa 1715Z, with another 1.1mm.
