Ok,
It's been a good day to get up to look at my Davis Anemometer,
especially as the Sun Recorder it fitted to the same pole and it's been
8/8 cloud all day.
My hunch seems to have been correct, unless the general handling of it
has woken it up. Firstly, I know now that it is a sealed unit, there is
no way you could get in their without breaking the plastic, unless the
potentiomter is accessable via the nut that sits under the vein.
Basically, the vein was turning but not moving the actual metal stud
that the 'Allen' key is supposed to lock it to. Unfortunately I
couldn't find the allen key and it's a tiny one. Anyone know where I
could get such a tiny key?
Anyway a temporary fix using 'Blutack' which so far 'touch wood'
appears to have solved the problem.
It's nightmare having to get up on the roof, tweak it, come all the way
down and see what's registering on the monitor. My Wife did assist at
one stage.
Bless her :-)
She thinks I'm completely off my trolley.
Regards
