Don Touhig MP, Under Secretary of State for Defence, today announced a
90-day period of consultation over possible changes in the organisation
and structure of the Met Office.

Mr Touhig emphasised, however, that the final decision had not been made,
and that it rested with him.
What this means of course in the language of the present government is that
the final decision has not been made... about the date when the decision
(which he has in fact already made) will be announced.
