Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for 12z on Sunday. Issued 0601z,
6/07/05.

The runs show dry, warm and settled conditions for much of the UK for the
first half of next week at least. High pressure looks like settling over the
UK and this time even Scotland and Northern Ireland should join in the sunny
conditions. Some of the runs show an easterly breeze across southern areas
and SE England in particular and this will lower temperatures somewhat
there; it could also bring in cloud from the North Sea.

High pressure is centred near to Scotland, leading to easterlies and
NE'lies. The high builds over Shetland at T+144, introducing southerlies to
Scotland with easterlies elsewhere. By day 7 a ridge from the west covers
the UK with westerlies for northern areas and NE'lies for SE England.

Light winds cover the UK, which lies under a ridge from the NE. 850hPa
temperatures vary from +9C over northern Scotland to +11C over southern
England. The high builds east of Aberdeen at T+144 with light winds,
followed by more of the same on day 7. By then an easterly and NE'ly flow
covers southern and SE England respectively and easterlies and ENE'lies
affect much of England and Wales on day 8 as the high moves slowly
northwards. Day 9 sees easterlies and ESE'lies over much of the UK, followed
by cyclonic ESE'lies and easterlies from a low to the south of Ireland on
day 10.

The ensembles still show a prolonged dry spell for London, although it's
likely to be warm rather than hot. By next weekend (15/16th) some runs bring
in a thundery low, but the majority keep things settled.

The Canadian run shows high pressure over Scotland with easterlies and
NE'lies over much of England and Wales. There's little change at T+144 as
the high persists over Scotland and Northern Ireland.
