Default fohn winds today in Scotland?

Hi Steven
Yesterday there was very little by way of wind, so fohn assisted
temperatures can be ruled out.
Today the breeze is generally from the west, so any fohn effect would show
up in the east of Scotland.
Generally its the middle of the country thats been experiencing the highest
temperatures (although there's no metars to report this on xc weather)
Today it was 80f (26.7ºC) here at midday for example.
You may find the map near the bottom of this page more useful than xcweather
for current temperatures in central & Southern Scotland...

all the best.
Alex.

Looking at the high temperatures in Edinburgh today and yesterday and the
N/NE wind -I wonder if Fohn winds could be responsible for the heating?
