This was posted to TWO as well and a bit of digging shows the 24hr
record is 1870mm, so this is well within the bounds of possibility.

Most of the soundings are highly unstable yielding thousands of CAPE, not
surprising given the season. One I have found from N. India has just shy of
7000J/kg !
