.... that's great, thanks. I did do the usual Googling, but obviously
didn't persevere (and was putting the wrong name in as well!).

Have since spoken to my Mum (a Devon lass) but she had not heard of the
word, so perhaps a peculiarly 'Dartmoor' term. I look forward to it's
use on national weather broadcasts ;-)
