I was at Shap AWS yesterday and the ants were terrible, huges swarms of them
all over the place, it got so bad we ended getting back in the car. Back at
home my elderley neighbour had the right idea - he had a blow torch going
and was burning them as they emerged from their nests - weather warm 20c,
with light winds

Two signs of the season in Buckingham:
MONDAY: very warm and sunny; late afternoon two nests of ants (small,
black) flew.
TUESDAY : warm and mostly sunny; combine harvester thundered up our road;
later, tractor came down twice with giant trailer-loads of grain.
