I was doing some research yesterday (or that was my excuse).

Sainsbury's in Cannon Street is positively arctic, with all the chiller
cabinets for the vast array of microwave meals and sandwiches. Might pop
there later as our office's air conditioning broke down over the weekend.

It still amazes me how shops in the UK have their air/con on full blast and
yet, still have all the shop doors wide open. If you did that in California
you would get a right mouthful from the energy conservation groups.

In the case of my daughter's shop, it is company policy to have the
doors open at all times- apparently people are much more likely to
come in if they're open.
