Default Super Typoon For Japan Wed

"Gareth B" wrote in message

Watching the BBC forcast tonight and they made mention of a super typoon on
its way to Japan for next Wednesday.

Never heard of a super typoon. Is it a catorgory 3 or 4 hurrican equivalant.

An F4 super-typhoon is the meteorological equivalent of a seismic
disturbance of a 7 M earthquake.

Where a 4 M is a gale, a 5 is a force 11 or "minimal" hurricane.

Inane?

Perhaps but just look at the likelihood of their occurrences. It is as
simple as that.

A 3 or 4 Mag quake is about as common as a severe thunder storm.

Anyone know how this may track?

Have too much to eat for tea, force down a few pints of strong beer and
sit indolently in front of the TV nibbling snacks and drinking more beer
until supper and you become too tired to stay awake, then go to bed with
too many blankets and the heating on and have a nightmare.

That may give you some indication.
