Looked like it would be a wet night here in Canterbury - about midnight,
a large storm looked to be getting closer with lightning every 30
seconds. However, it stayed a good 4 or 5 miles to the east. Only 1.0mm
overnight, bringing the monthly total for September to 5.1mm.
