Default Wet night in Southend-on-Sea

Just a trace here, just 15 miles inland. It's amazing that yet again the
rain and storms passed up the North Sea coast through east Kent and the
coastal strip of Essex, which is supposed to be the driest region of the UK!
The rest seems to have gone to the West of London, earlier in the day. I've
no idea why this is happening so frequently (probably just a quirk) but it
is weird seeing Southend having so much more summer rain on the coast than
here, in land.

It does seem to follow patterns like that in some years, probably find
next year a similar thing yet we miss the rain and you get it.
