Default OT Scandisk ?

My memory lets me down everytime.

I'm finding my computer sometimes flashes into a blue screen (can never
read this) then reboots. I think it maybe a windows or disk error.
The first thing I want to try is Scandisk, which you run from DOS. How
do you get to this point? F8 comes up with Uguru screen etc, F2 seem to
not respond. A noddy guide would be appreciated.

Thanks

You could install linux (no blue screens) and use a journalled filesystem
like ext3 (default on most installs) which will avoid those issues and does
not require defragging.
