In the 1930s apparently. I don't know the exact number. It would be good if
someone could check up on that.

The storms weren't named in the 1930's. The most active year in that
decade was 1933 with 23 reaching at least tropical storm intensity. At
least that's what is in the archive but the detail was obviously much
less reliable then compared to today.
