We have had the builders in and in like good chaps whilst working they
removed my temperature sensor unit from the wall and left it hanging by the
wire. I have since noticed that when I switch on the monitor the
temperature just rises and rises, at the moment it's showing 49.5c, humidity
at 59%.

I have had a quick look for replacement units and was a bit taken back by
the cost. Therefore before I go any further does anyone have any ideas. I
thought that maybe a wire in the cable has broken as it's been hanging by
this for a week or so. The unit has also been hanging upside down and I
wondered if that may have caused it to fail.

I wondered If the wire was broken can you access the unit easily?
