Default historical data for spain

I'm looking for historical local weather data for Spain for January and
February of 2005. The national weather service (INM) seems pretty
hopeless. Any ideas?

Actually, if you are looking for "official" records, you will probably
need to contact Spain's National Meteorological Service, since this is
the ultimate source of observed Spanish meteorological observations
from cities, airports, etc.

However, some amateur websites may have archives of official and
unofficial weather observations of recent times for specific locations
in Spain. Finding them on the Web may take some effort though.
A good place to start is he

You may also want to research synoptic (SYNOP) and climate (CLIMAT)
reports from the period in question.

If you just want to know how much precipitation occured and what the
average temperature was (along with other basic climatic information)
at key locations in Spain, go a few pages down in these documents
(Monthly Clmatic Data For the World) :

http://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/mcdw/mcdw0501.pdf
http://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/mcdw/mcdw0502.pdf

You may also access previous monthly summaries of decoded daily
synoptic data, inc. precipitation, max/min temperature, sunshine for
about 80 WMO stations in Espana from several sources, including:

http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/Europe.htm (choose country/city)

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/...ata.html#daily

Keep in mind that there may be errors and missing data in these
unofficial summaries.
