Hi Will

I am also the proud owner of a Vantage Pro2

http://www.ukjay.co.uk

I have only had mine for a few months though ;-)

Have you tried changing the battery?

No not yet. Have to find one first!

also how often is your archive interval? (30mins?)

I archive every 10 minutes.

Good Luck

Thanks, and you !

Will.

Ok Will every 10 mins may cause more batt consumption, but I'm not sure how
much more than every 30mins
maybe 3 x as much? LOL
Have you tried maplins for the batt?

cheers

Hi Will

I have had a wireless Vantage Pro for about 2 years and a bit. I find
that it is best to change the small 3 Volt battery at the beginning and
the end of the year. They cost about £5-6 pounds and I find the
panasonic the best. I have my archive set at 10 mins, but the biggest
problem has in the past been the loss of signal particularly when it is
foggy, so I purchased a wireless repeater from Weathernet at Bournemouth
and in respect of signal loss, I have never had a problem since.
The other recent problem was a failure of the humidity board which left
the console with a constant reading of 100%, but McMurdo from Portsmouth
kindly replaced FOC.
Oh incidentally I have never changed the fan aspirated batteries and the
fan is still happily flying round despite the manual saying you should
change the motor and batteries every year.
Hope this helps.
Alan

Cheers Alan, sounds good advice. Fog is a real problem up here.
