I wonder if Paul will consider it worth issuing a winter forecast this
year?
Will mid November come and go without his "must read" post as another mild
December-February beckons, or will there be signs in the wind that stir
him
from his seasonal forecast slumbers.

Victor.
You are a little unkind to me. Last year I did not issue as I regarded
the possibility of anything normal or below as being so unlikely as not to
warrant the workload. I still regard any winter temperature below normal
as unlikely. And even a 'normal' winter I doubt - so rather mild. Mild or
Very mild.
But of course I have put no work in yet so the above is just as
meaningless as people having 'hunches'.
In view of the Berlin.ac forecast and the Office outlook. It may be
worthwhile ploughing through the data again.
When did we last have a cold winter month? 1990 - I don't know. I feel
the winter forecast apart from the odd cold snap is therefore a bit
pointless.
Cheers
Paul
